Our purpose is for each member of HEC to have an avenue through which you can connect with the other moms so that we can encourage, support and share resources, ideas and experiences.
Hi Tara, I'm not sure what ages you have, but in our house, my youngest usually just enjoys playing alone (without having to "share" or have his big brother boss him around), but if he tells me he wants to "do school" or if it's an off day for him, I'll pull out his tracing, or cutting books, or play dough. Sometimes, I'll let him do sink play (with cups or cleaning stones) or put him at the computer doing starfall or a game or I'll even put him to work doing chores...sorting the clean clothes into each person's pile or cleaning my slider. (child labor). Hope this helps. Love, Suzy
"Sink play" is a great idea! I'll be trying that one out this week. I can keep his (Joshua) attention for much of the lesson, and he likes to be included, but some of it just goes over his head and he gets bored. Thanks.
Great ideas Suzy!!! I'm going to try some of those things with Madison (3) and Bradley (2) this week!!! I also just bought a couple of great new manipulative toys this week that I'm going to try out this upcoming week. ~Mandy
I read somewhere that some Moms' keep a special toy bag filled with "school" toys for the little ones that they only get to play with during their siblings school time.

I either have them sit and join or they have a little room time.
